Native Americans ask UCSD to rename facilities honoring Dr. William Osler, the ‘father of modern medicine’

University officials say they are reviewing the request after criticism is raised about Osler’s racial views and his gift of four indigenous skulls to a mentor in Germany in the 1880s.
