Mohegans’ Malerba first Native American named treasurer in U.S. history

Marilynn “Lynn” Malerba, chief of the Mohegan Tribe, has been named the 45th treasurer of the United States, the first Native American to hold the position, President Joe Biden announced Tuesday.
